When I embarked on my personal diatribe on Vegas as whole vs. Las Vegas for a visit, I quickly found the lines blurring for me.  I lived in Vegas for about 6 months in 1999, so I wouldn't call it fresh in my mind.  On the other hand I have certain spots that i always hit up in Vegas.  My wife thinks I'm old before my time because i prefer hanging out on Fremont St., but I am looking for a certain experience when I go to Las Vegas.  I want to hang out for a few hours at a craps table without having to risk a couple hundred bucks.  Besides, I tell her that all the glitz and glamor of Vegas is nice, but I'm in to the nostalgia of it all. Ultimately we end up staying just off the strip around New York New York.  Old Vegas has charm I guess, but the heart of Vegas is the spectacle of a billion dollar travel industry.  Every available amenity is just a phone call away in most modern Casino's.  Pending the occasion, I recommend dabbling in both the old and new of Vegas.  Also, remember the best odds are often found off of the Strip (Las Vegas Blvd.)  Click the Read More button for some tips about a great Vegas vacation.

The powder on Tahoe's impressive slopes speaks to me louder than all other place in the states.  The craziest drifts with the crispest flakes around.  Not to mention more blue bird days than any other slope in the world.  With the lake snow phenomenon in full effect, Tahoe can dump fifteen feet in a night, and turn to the sweetest blue skies you've ever seen by morning. My North Shore fave has to be Incline Village  and Crystal Bay.

With 30 named trails and some open glades North Lake Tahoe has every kind of experience one could ask for.  My personal favorite is the two and a half mile run at Diamond Park.  This place is great for the family, and it's not a super hike into the backwoods.  I'm not as young as I used to be.  The shuttle services are top notch, and everything you need is in the village.

I don't want to leave out the folks at Kirkwood on the locals turf South Lake Tahoe style.  If you are new to the scene I recommend sticking to the North for your first few forays into the Tahoe snow park scene.

The backcountry is wild out there, but beginners beware this is no time for ego driven death missions.  I recommend heading out there with some friends and family members.  Keep an eye out for friendly locals who can show you the ropes at each park.  There is plenty of fun in the sun for all ages in Tahoe's winter wonderland.

Helicopter Tours

The sin city experience can only be topped by flying high above it on your own personal helicopter tour ride.  Check out the glowing city at night from a few hundred feet above the casino roofs.  Click here for some heli-tour companies.

Seans on the Shore -Tahoe

Lake Tahoe provides both winter and summer fun and enjoyment.  Seans on the shore is a luxury vacation home rental like no other.  Positioned perfectly to take advantage of both winter and summer activities on the beautiful keys of Keys of Tahoe.
