and social media breakfast events; - Social media tools; - Beginner tools and resources; - Future meeting locations; - Call for a new organizer starting in January, 2009. We also decided to hold the
next meeting on WEDNESDAY, 3 December 2008, at the Conjunctured Facility, as well. In addition, there will be a new organizer starting in Feburary, 2009, as Fred Castaneda will step down and allow
someone else the opportunity to organize the group. The suggested format would be to have a main organizer, along with a co-organizer, so that the latter can learn from the former and then take over
after a brief transfer period of a meeting or two has taken place. Then this practice will ensure that all can participate as group leaders and get a wonderful experience and value from being the
"leader" of the group. If you have any questions, please send an email to: austinpodcasters@gmail.com or go to the MEETUP facility on the web at: http://podcasting.meetup.com/92/calendar/8926545/

This audio episode of the AUSTIN PODCASTERS GROUP describes the VIRTUAL meetup on 25 September 2008. Unlike the other prior meetups, this one took place entirely online, via the webinar facilities of
Dave Jackson and his SCHOOL OF PODCASTING (at http://www.schoolofpodcasting.com). We discussed upcoming events, different news in the world of podcasting, and then turned it over to Dave Jackson, as
our special guest, to present: - tutorials for learning how to podcast (12 steps); - resources for podcasters of all levels; - recommended hardware equipment for beginners; - demonstration of audio
editing and mixing software; and then he conducted a ROUNDTABLE discussion, very much like his own "roundtables" for the paid subscribers of the SCHOOL OF PODCASTING. This was our chance to have a
free 30-minute session with a very experienced podcast consultant and we called this time "ASK DAVE JACKSON." The feedback at the end of the session via the online text chat window in the webinar
screen all agreed that there was value in this VIRTUAL meetup, and that it should be done again at a later time. By the way, Dave Jackson did record the session and will be providing a URL or web
link to the recorded audio very soon to us. When he does, then I will post it as another episode (an "extra special" blogpost) on this web location (or blog). We also asked for any interested member
who wants to become the organizer of this Austin Podcasters Group for 2009 to please contact me via email: austinpodcasters@gmail.com. We would like to have other members of this team be able to
share in the organizational leadership for at least 3 month-blocks, so that all can participate and get more than they put into the group. Our thanks to Dave Jackson for his participation and
leadership in the roundtable and for being our guest during this 1st VIRTUAL meetup of the Austin Podcasters Group. Sincerely, Fred Castaneda, 2008 Organizer

In this espisode, we relate to the group a summary of the display of gear on 21 August 2008, as well as the agenda for the meeting. This will give those who did not get a chance to attend the meeting
an idea of the items on display which then created interesting discussion among the attendees. Welcome to our members Smiles Lewis and Glenn Ross. And thanks to Smiles for his comment and review of
the meetup (you can see it on the web site for the meetup). We had several members also discuss some of the topics of the agenda items of the New Media Expo 2008, which took place the week before--
from August 14 to August 16, 2008, in Las Vegas. At the event, I did see Shelly Brisbin, one of our members--but she was in an interview at the moment, and I did not get a chance to catch up with her
again (one of the detriments of the event being in Las Vegas--as people scattered to different events, shows, locations and other locations in the Convention Center--and not like the "intimacy" of
the prior 3 Expos at the Marriott and Ontario Convention Center in California). I also gave a quick summary of the Podcast Secrets Reunion, which occurred the day before, in a different Las Vegas
venue. Top among the topics were the benefits in the Expo and the Reunion resulting from my coming in as runner-up and 2nd-place winner of the Podcast Secrets Challenge contest among "veteran
podcasters" (i.e., those who have already published a podcast before the challenge) as the most improved podcast (and the podcast series that won this award and recognition was
http://www.gaincontrolofyourday.com). One of these benefits that created discussion was my promotion of my podcasts (I have 8 of them currently) at the Podcast We did briefly discuss in detail the
PremiumCast system and its benefits to those who want to publish a podcast and place their series into another directory--either for free or fee. We also discussed different resources and free
tutorials for those who are in the beginning stages of launching (or re-launching) podcast series. Of particular importance were the following: - both the explanation and a live demonstration (using
the Audio Technica 2020 USB microphone) at the end of the meeting of the LEVELATOR from Gigavox; and - a discussion of syndication engines of both TUBEMOGUL and HELLOTXT and PING.FM; - a set of
documents that are being delivered now on how to make the best use of Twitter and its business uses; - an explanation of the webinar/webcast/video content creation tool called MOGULUS; - and finally,
we had a few moments at the end of the audio podcast episode captured on the Zoom H2 portable recorder of a summary of both Smiles and Glenn, including the value that they received from the meetup on
21 August 2008. We also agreed that either for the September or October meetup, we may have a VIRTUAL MEETUP via a webinar/webcast tool with audio dialogue and chat room ability. In this way, the
majority of our members would have an opportunity to ask questions and see the screen demonstrations. Our next meetup will be either September 18 or September 25--we will announce the date once we
confirm that we do not have a conflict with the AUSTIN SOCIAL MEDIA MEETUP, since some of our members would like to attend both. We will send out an email to the member distribution list as soon as
we find out.
